The United States Congress has recently wasted time and resources busying itself with resolutions to condemn statements by MoveOn.org and Rush Limbaugh. Yesterday, it passed a Bill titled "Recognizing the commencement of Ramadan." As the Bill's title suggests, it merely... recognizes that a Muslim holiday is starting. Why is Congress wasting time passing resolutions like these? If you want to find out when Ramadan starts, just look at a calendar. We don't need Congress to remind us.
UPDATE: This is the title of a bill that passed in December: "Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that those who celebrate Christmas believe that the symbols and traditions of Christmas should be protected." Yes, it's a bill simply saying that Christians like Christmas. You've gotta be kidding me.
